NHL Playoff Drinking Game (Montreal/Philly)

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Drinking game during Montreal game

Start the game off by gunning a molson cold shot

Grab a beer and take a sip for every stoppage in play. Also, drink two whenever:
- Too many men on the ice penalty called
- Commentators point out a call the refs missed.
- Don tells Ron to shut up
- Don calls Ron a name
- Every goal (plus 1 for the stoppage of play!)

Chug your beer when…
- Commentators point out ‘The momentum just changed’
- After a questionable goal they show the backup goalie on the bench
- ‘They are letting them play’ or ‘Put the whistles in their pocket’
- If we see bettman on TV. (this is so you don’t throw your drink at him)

Unless the game is a total bust you should be feeling pretty good right now. If your going into OT kill a beer at the beginning of each period. By the end of this game you won’t care who wins

New Photos in the Gallery

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

Just an update in the photo gallery – there are two new gallerys I added recently with some pictures from a few drives around Ottawa we’ve done.  Some spectacular pics of Rideau Falls and some others from along the Ottawa River up to Pinhey’s Point.  Enjoy

Photos from the Ottawa River Valley

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Today we were out and about and visited a few of the lesser-known areas around Renfrew and area.  We hit the Tatlock Mine, Mountainview chute dam, Fourth Chutes near Eganville, and the ghost town of Backlava.  Here are some photos we took.

Also, check out the map below for the locations of the photos on the map.

Canada Day and Bluesfest update

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Added some photos for a couple of events that I attended recently.   Canada Day in Ottawa was pretty exciting, here are a couple of pictures from the fireworks that night.

A few weeks later Our Lady Peace came to town for Cicso Ottawa Bluesfest and put on an awesome show.  Some photos below.

Double Decker Busses in Ottawa – Pretty Nifty

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Pretty interesting – it seems Ottawa has ordered a few double decker busses recently and they travel a route I frequent.

Now if only the top floor had some more headroom…

Product Demo for a Sawzall blade

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Not long ago, a wise salesman named E decided to give us one of his products to try out.  The product in question is a Miwaukee Axe blade for a reciprocating saw – sawzall for short.   This is a 12-inch long blade with teeth bigger than the ones in your mouth.  I’ve heard these blades are marketed to firefighters doing search & rescue to help them cut their way through a house in as little time as possible.  We thought we could find some better uses for these blades

Hockey Weekend

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Well I’m just wrapping up the Easter (extra) long weekend, and have to post a couple of pictures.  On Thursday we were lucky enough to get some tickets and bring the kids out to a Senators game – thanks boss!  We have a great box available at work, and it was a great way to bring the kids out to the game.

The kids had a blast at the game, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Saturday I also had tickets to goto the game (3rd deck rail seats), but we ended up spending the game in the box, which was really nice again.  The game was pretty good, it was nice to see Neil back, but Spezza really isn’t showing anyone why he should be a top ten player in the league.  He has to stop giving it away when he hits the blue line, it is getting ridiculous now.
